Kim has been given the funding from her father and made the arrangements to continue her spanish studies for another week. The director, Rafael, was very happy to extend her time there. She will try to travel to the project after classes during the week to get started there too. Here are some pictures she uploaded to Facebook today. There is one of her standing next to her Honduran “Mom” Rocio and one of her “Grandparents” that live in the house (and are the cooks) watching the final World Cup match on TV.

I have been thinking about your visit and im starting to make some plans.
you get here Saturday night and im thinking that I will just get you a room at the Hotel Italia at least for one night maybe more depending on whats going on. I can see if there will be room to stay in the volunteer house at the project if your interested. for sunday monday tuesday and we night.
Sunday we can check out the city and then be at the project mon tues and wed.
Thursday and Thursday night i was thinking we could do a Omega tour. I have heard good things about them. http://www.omegatours.info/ daytrips.asp you can choose one of the tours and the price includes one night stay at the lodge and lunch. they range in prices but its worth it because you have aguide and thats really the only way to explore the mountain jungles. I was thinking that grandma would enjoty the half day hike up to the waterfall.
friday and saturday I could like to go out to one of the Islands.
Most people go to Roatan and I would really perfer that Island. I was lookign at places to stay and they range from dirt cheap to hundreds of dollars. I would prefer to stay in a mid range hotel with AC and hot showers, neither of which are possible in La Ceiba. These are the hotels i was interested in but you could do some research yourself.
this is the web site you can check out info about roatan hotels. http://roatanet.com/search04. php?cmd=search&select0= westend&select1=nochoice& select2=nochoice&select3= nochoice&select4=nochoice
we want to stay in the west end area, but it might not really matter. Check it out and do some research bc we probally want to book a room in advance.
All plans are tenitive but not the island part

Hola,
So today was my first day of volunteering in El Cacao at the childrens day camp. I already really love it there. The kids are pretty smelly but over all really cute. They range in age from not even one to some teenagers. A little guy named Marcelo imediately attached himself to me and it looks like i’m his new special person. He is a climber and only wants you to carry him around and swing him. He’s probally about five but a little small for his age. His little brother also goes there, he is two and weighs 17 pounds, I know this bc I took him to the clinic today, he’s very sick, so is his older sister who is also very tiny. All the kids are very cute and just want to be around you and show you things. I think it will be a lot of fun spending time there but im also glad i decided to stay in El Sauce instead of living out in the volunteer house. The volunteers who are living there now said it was a smart idea to just come back and forth. Speaking of whcih i learned how to take the bus system which is just a bunch of super old school buses out to the project. Also I did two things I was told never to do in Honduras, ride in the back of a pick up on the highway, and hitch hike. But standing around in the rain and waiting for the bus to get there to take us home was not very appealing either. Obviously I survived. I probally would do it if there wasn’t a guy with us. Not to mention 40 minutes in the back of a truck in the rain going 70 mph was not very fun either. I cant wait till tomorrow! This week im going to go out there everyday and then this weekend I have to myself. The girls I live with are going out to spend the weekend in Pico Bonito which I plan to do with mom and Gramma. Everyone else I go to school with is going on a weekend trip to the Copan ruins, im staying in Le Ceiba to save money for next weekend when we go to Cayos Cochinos on Saturaday. Tonight the girls I live with and Hector (see picture) are taking Pamela to see Toy Story 3. its half price night at the movie theater so its only 30 limps and that is about a dollar and ten cents. Talk you you later!
Love you
Kim
