07-28-10 via phone call
Kim has checked in most every day because she has a new cell phone that was given to her by someone who was leaving the country and this phone has a bunch of free minutes on it to use in country only.  She says that it was a mistake to buy a international cell phone in the States for her to take as there are phones everywhere that you can buy international minutes much much cheaper than we can.  She sounds great, the sound quality is better and there isn’t the satelite delay like the other phone.  Oh well, live and learn.
She is very much enjoying her job at the Las Sonrisa project.  The kids are so fun and happy and appreciative of everything.  She likes and respects Patricia and Reid, the project founders/directors and what they are trying to do.  She also had the opportunity to travel by boat out to some islands and do some snorkeling with friends over the weekend.  She put some photos on FaceBook which I was able to download and attach here.  The little island village in the photos is called Gurfina and has a population of about 70 people on a very tiny island.  There is a picture of “story time at Las Sonrisa project” and some other local beach scenes.
